What Causes Blackish Discoloration On The Legs After A Heart Attack?

Hello, My brother is at the hospital, his legs turns black after a heart attack. He was in a coma, but now he s awake. The doctocs said his both feet need to be amputated. My question is: why do his both feet turn black after a hearth attack? (he s 50 years old, about 180 lbs. He s a heavy smoker, and has high cholesterol rate)

it turned to black cause of ischemia..as heart sends an embolus to lower limb vessels occluding it...Unfortunately it should be managed in the first feww hours or amputation is the only choice...
