What Causes Blank Vision And Fainting?

I was walking down the road this evening, my eyes went blank and i fell down on the road... I was on the ground for like 5secs.. i sustained some bruises cos i couldnt support myself when i was going down.. I rose by myself and since then i am ok.. what is the cause pls.. so worried
