What Causes Bleach Smell During Cold And Sore Throat?

Hey, I have had a really bad sore throat and cold for 2 days and for the past few hours I have been smelling bleach and tasting soap when I eat food. My mum used bleach in the bathroom earlier today which could be the reason but no one else can smell it but me. Is this normal if you have flu and cold? Thanks : )

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Sore throat , cough and cold can be associated with change in taste.
When the cough and cold resolve then this should improve as well.

IF the room where the bleach was used is not well ventilated and you were in contact with the fumes then this would contribute to your symptoms as well.

I hope this helps
