What Causes Bleeding After Having Contraceptive Pills?

Hlo doctor Me and my gf had sex on 24.09.2014. Unfortunately there was a contraceptive failure (Condom breakdown) She took emergency contraceptive pill immediately within 2 hours of sex. Now she is having bleeding from 29.09.2014. Although she had finished her period on 20.09.2014. So kindly advice me regarding following questions: Y she is having bleeding now.?? How long(duration) it will end?? Is this a sign of non pregnancy?? What effect it will have on her next period??

Hi.

ECPs can have a side effect of bleeding, this usually lasts just for a few days and then subsides. It is not an indicator of anything, just a side effect of the ECP. The next cycle may be a little irregular or delayed, but no other impact or consequence should occur.
