What Causes Bleeding After Having Sex?

My girlfriend and I had sex today and she was bleeding afterward and said she cleaned bloody membrane from her vagina shortly after while in the shower. this time there was little to no foreplay but she was wet when we started, only a few minutes of sex. we had sex yesterday with no issues and she had her last period about a week ago.

Hello,
Welcome to HCM and thanks for asking your question....
Bleeding while sex is very common during initial days and it may be due to hymen rupture...
You need not to worry much about that, because I guess bleeding was not severe and pain was not there...so as per my opinion, there are more chances of hymen rupture or mucosa damage...keep vagina clean with soap and water frequently and avoid sex for few days...it will be healed soon automatically. ..
But if bleeding is very severe and continues for more than 24 hours, then you must approach gynecologist for proper guidance..
Hope my answer will help you alot...
