My son is just over 7 mo. I was scared to do anything cuz i tore bad almost all the way. I was on a progestrin only birth control but was bleeding constantly so i quit taking it 2mo ago. My period returned to normal. Now I had sex for the first time last night since giving birth and started to bleed. But wasnt period bleeding. Is this normal?
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. The injury in the genital tract you had while childbirth might have completely healed in 7 months. It has no relation with the bleeding you had after intercourse last night. Post coital bleeding can be due to local lesions in cervix or vagina, including malignancy. I would therefore suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist as soon as possible so that you can be properly examined, investigated( including pap smear and colposcopy ) and treated accordingly. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Regards Dr Deepti verma
