What Causes Bleeding After Miscarriage?

i had a miscarriage about 2 and a half weeks ago. I was told in the hospital i was 6 weeks pregnant. I bled and then noticed a brown discharge, now im bleeding again after 3 days of no blood. Can this still be because of my miscarriage or can it be the begining of my menstrual cycle?
