What Causes Bleeding After Unprotected Intercourse?

So yesterday I was having unprotected sex with my boyfriend. I have before but we are careful. I am not on any contraception. I usually get my period for like a week every 4 weeks but a week and a half ago I only got it for 3 days. Yesterday when we were having sex I started to bleed only a little bit but that s the first time that s ever happened to me before? Is there something wrong? The blood was also thick and brown, not like usual period blood. What do I do?

Hi,

In first-time sexual intercourse, mild bleeding could be due to hymen tear.

If bleeding persists than post-coital minor tear can be possible.

I suggest you get your per speculum examination if bleeding persists.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
