OBGYN 's  Response
Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

Sex can cause bleeding in early pregnancy. The uterus contracts when you orgasm and any internal contact can scrape your cervix which is so vascular from the pregnancy that it sometimes bleeds when touched.

This bleeding should stop or at least turn brown within 24 hours. Drink lots of fluids and take it easy for a day. If your bleeding continues and becomes heavier over time or with clots you should see your OBGYN to make sure the baby is ok.

I hope I answered your question adequately and that my advice was helpful.

Best of luck with the pregnancy and take care,

Dr. Brown
