What Causes Bleeding Behind Eye After Having Cataract Surgery?

I was told I have bleeding behind my eye. I had cataract surgery on that eye 4 weeks ago. To be safe I have been referred to a retinal specialist.I will see that doctor tomorrow. It appears like puffs of smoke over my lens now. The doctor I saw said it may go away on it's own. What do you think is wrong and what does it mean? My vision was great 20/25 in that eye following surgery. Thank you
