Dear Madam,
I empathize your situation.
In fact whenever there is brown bleeding during any stage of
pregnancy, the first suspicion is death of the baby. When brown bleeding takes place in the first three months, there is a possibility of old or stale abortion. However, in spite this when the abortion does not take place, we call it as
Missed abortion.
You had non-viable baby when you had first bout of brown bleeding. However, the hCG levels do not drop that fast to diagnose non-viable pregnancy. Only
ultrasonography would have detected non-viable foetus at that stage.
Now that your missed abortion is confirmed, it is advisable that you undergo the completion of termination of pregnancy ASAP as delay may lead to the complications like clotting disorders (DIC), infections, kidney failure, etc.
Before you undergo any intervention, it is advisable to get investigated for DIC by
Bleeding Time, Clotting Time,
Prothrombin Time and Fibrinogen Degradation Products on your blood.
I hope this has given you some guidance for further management of this condition.
