I am 75 yr old lady, have had hysterectomy over 30 yrs ago, every morning for the last year, when I wake up and urinate. I have blood on ,the toilet paper, not a lot. But red fresh blood, and only first thing every morning..I am not sure what is going on, my history is. Skin cancer, and degenerative eye disease, hmmm just wondering what could this be..the blood seems to come not from my bladder though??
General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for the query. I understand your concern. Such blood can be due to urine concentration over the night , irritating urethral lining &causing blood / bladder infection or inflammation/ bladder stone /it can be from genital tract .Malignancy has to be excluded. Drink more water & try to pass urine in half sleeping time. You need immediate through medical check up &investigations. Thanks.
