What Causes Bleeding From A Healed Wound?

Hi a couple of months ago I fell off a skateboard and injured myself and I needed stiches. I got stiches and they were taken out too soon and the wound reopened. I let it heal on its own but the scar tissue rises and gets purple and tender. I pricked it with a pun and blood appearing to be black came out of the pin prick site. I tried this away from the scar tissue on the knee and no blood at all. I m wondering if this is normal. I suspect the wound isn t healed but it s sealed while still trying to heal but I m not sure.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms can be related to a wound infection.
I suggest you to clean the area with hydrogen peroxide and use an antibiotic ointment to avoid any infection.
I also suggest you to cover the area with a clean bandage.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
