What Causes Bleeding From An Infant’s Mouth While Suffering From Viral Fever?
My 13 month old has been spiking a fever of 103 since Friday. I have taken him to the dr they said a viral infection. But today he woke up from his nap with blood coming from his mouth. I took him to the ER the dr said he was bleeding from teething....should I still be worried?
As per your complain bleeding from mouth when having Viral infection at the age of 13 months can be very much due to teething.. At times along with Viral infection there is swelling and inflammation of the gums that can cause bleeding and conditions is known as Gingivostomatits.. So in case if the blood is from.the guns you need not to worry.. You can do cool compresses over the gums.. Give him teething rings after cooling them in refrigerator to bite on.. Feed with plenty of bland fluids.. Give appropriate rest..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
