What Causes Bleeding From Navel In A Diabetic While Had Ileostomy?

My husband is diabetic. He is on a blood thinner and has an illiostomy. Today while changing his wafer for his pouch, I noticed bleeding from his naval. What could cause this?? Might it have to do with the blood thinner? What other issues need to be addressed??

Hi
I am Dr Mittal
I have read your query
I will try to help you in its regard

From the query, I am not sure when the ileostomy was done. I am assuming it was recent. The chances are high that the ileostomy has not closed well yet and so you need to be patient and talk to your doctor about the bleeding.

If I assume that the ileostomy was done before, there is a definite possibility that there has been a minor trauma while he has been on blood thinners.
Again, from the query, I am not sure the type of blood thinner or why it was prescribed.
I can only say thus that check your pt/inr and aptt. They will tell us if the parameters are ok, or if we need to reduce the dose.

Please let me know with further details for more complete info.
