What Causes Bleeding From The Nose After Putting Tube During Colonoscopy?

Hello, my name is Linda. I had an colonoscopy today. The anesthesia was explained to me and also how a tube may be inserted through my nostril for air and that I might feel a burning in my nose afterward. Well around five oclock my nose felt stopped up so I blew them and out came blood, I blew them again this time more like a blood clot. This happened twice. Right now my eye and ear ache on my right side. Should I be concern or is this normal...Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Read and understood that you had Colonoscopy today, and seems it was done under General anesthesia.
The tube if must have been put in through the nose might have caused trauma and the dislodgement of a good clot might have caused the bleeding.

Do not worry, this is usually self-limiting.
Instill decongestant nasal drops and relax,
Do not blow the nose

I hope this helps you.
