Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain bleeding from the back of tongue along with appearance of enlarged taste buds can occur due to inflammation in the papillae that contains taste buds present in the back region of tongue known as Circumvallete Papilla, which are located in a typical V-shaped pattern and any infection or allergy can lead to inflammation of these papilla can lead to swelling and can bleed on stimulation..

The inflammation can occur due to eating or drinking extremely hot or spicy food which causes irritation and swelling, any infection prevailing in the oral cavity and at times throat can cause infection in these papilla and can bleed on stimulation..

Mostly these swellings are nothing serious and can be relieved..

You can do salt water rinses..

Use of antimicrobial mouth wash can be helpful in reducing any microbial growth in mouth..

Gargles with 1:1 solution of milk of magnesia and benadryl can help..

Suck on ice pops..

Drink plenty of cool water to maintain hydration as well as relieve from inflammation..

In case of irritation due to allergic reaction benadryl or allegra can be taken..

To relieve inflammation Ibuprofen can be taken..

Hope this information helps..
