What Causes Bleeding From Vagina During And After Sex?

My girlfriend has bleeding after/ during sex. I have recently had a light stinging sensation after ejaculation what could this be? the doctor she seen said thrush, personally i dont think this is the case as she took her tablet 3 days ago and still the bleeding hasnt stopped.
