What Causes Bleeding In Between The Menstrual Cycle?

i ve been on the pill for months now and i ve gotten my period 3 days after i took the last pill every time. last week i saw blood after i wiped and in the toilet and i haven t taken my last pill as yet, what does this mean ? could i be pregnant ? or is it because my period is due ? This has never happened before
