Hi my name is don and I have been having nosebleeds for the last five days and I have seen other doctors & nurses out here in clinic in the middle of the desert, all my blood levels and sugars are fine. I am also on wafrin 7mg and these levels where 2. I am getting very worried that there is something really serious is happening.
Dear Mr Don, Thank you for posting your query here. I understand your complaints. Warfarin causes a condition predisposing to nasal bleeds. Please check you INR. If it is lesser 2, then it is unlikely of warfarin effect. Dry climate predisposes to nasal bleeds. I would suggest you start using saline nasal sprays thrice daily to keep moisture in nose. You also require a nasal endoscopy to know the site of bleeding inside the nose. If the medical management doesnot relieve then a cauterization or a surgical blocking of the affected artery will help. I suggest you see an ENT specialist. Wish you good health Dr Rao
