What Causes Bleeding In The Ear After Water Method Cleaning?

Hi. Monday I went to the urgent care clinic at Washington Hospital (since my private doctor no longer takes Blue Cross/ Anthem...but that s another story!) I needed my ear cleaned. The technician used the water method which I have had done many times before. Unfortunately on the 7th squirt she hit something and it really hurt. Next thing I see is blood coming out of the ear, and now I need to put antibiotics into my ear. It is still kind of oozing, and I need to fly tomorrow. Will I be OK? Do I have a perforated ear drum? How long until it will heal and I will hear better?

Hi ,As per your clinical history it appears as you are having trauma to ear drum.
Cleaning with water should be done by experience doctor , there are chance of ear perforation.
Keep ear dry , donot allow water to go inside during bath. Use Ciplox D ear drop.
During flying swallow fluid repeatedly , avoid sleep while fiying , use chew gum & Decongestant nasal drops .
I will take 7-10 days to heal , if you donot allow water to go inside & you can do audiometry later if find hearing loss.
