What Causes Bleeding In The Ear?

Bathed my 22 month son tonight and while cleaning his ears with q- tips noticed a small amount of blood from each ear. He fell earlier in the day and hit his head on the door. He takes alot of falls and bumps his head often. The fall today didn t seem out of the norm. Thank you for any help.
