What Causes Bleeding In The Ears And Hearing Loss?

My husband s ear started bleeding last night. He won t go to emergency room. He cannot hear anything now. He is hard of hearing anyway as he already wears hearing aids. It started bleeding after he took the hearing aids out last night. and they do hurt his ears. He is on Eliquis and blood pressure meds and lasix, potassium. etc. He has a lot of health issues. Should he discontinue Eliquis? His blood pressure did go up yesterday, but it had gone down last night. What could it be and what should I do?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Kindly do coagulation profile first and see the INR then decide for eliquis should be stopped or not.that may be a cause of bleeding.and other factor is trauma due to hearing aid which is micro trauma in nature.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
