Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Was sleeping and woke up with blood in my mouth, about a half tea spoonful. Wonder if injesting caldryl in a small amount is the cause. Put it on my face near my mouth then felt metal like taste in my mouth. Panel state do not use near mucus membranes.
As per your query you have bleeding in mouth upon waking up which is not due to ingesting Caldryl as in small amount this prescribed medication has no side effect like bleeding from mouth. It could be due to oral condition such as gingivitis and if long standing infection is there it is because of periodontitis. This is because of bacterial infection of mouth which gets build up on frequent basis and start causing bleeding.
I would suggest you to visit periodontist and get scaling done for oral cavity and if required go for curettage or root planning. Brush twice daily and do flossing on regular basis. Use antimicrobial mouth wash such as Listerine to prevent bacterial accumulation.
Maintain proper hygiene and rinse with water after having every meal and don't leave oral cavity like that. Avoid sticky food as much as you can.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
