What Causes Bleeding Through Ears? Suggest Remedies
My daughter had grommets fitted and an adenoidectomy about 4 months ago. She has recently had a cold and got a chest infection which she was given antibiotics for last Saturday. The cough is clearing, but since then she has had discharge from one ear. The discharge was initially a yellowy colour, but this morning the discharge is bloody. Does this mean she has infection around the grommet? Should we try to seek care before her GPs are open again on Monday?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have bleeding through ears which could be due to ear infection, accumulation of ear wax, foreign body penetration in ear and it could be due to sinusitis. Need not to worry about it. Try to avoid use of any sharp instrument as it will exaggerate your situation. Maintain proper hygiene. I would suggest you to take antibiotic Ciprofloxacin along with Ibuprofen. You should put Otogesic ear drops 3-4 times a day. You should take proper rest. If symptoms keeps on persisting you should visit Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and start treatment after proper prescription. Get all the lab tests done and examination with otoscope.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
