What Causes Bleeding Through The Boil That Has Been Drained A Day Ago?

Had a boil that drained a day ago. However it is still bleeding. It is a more of a watery blood like discharge. I have been putting an antibiotic cream on it along with bandage. Should I be concerned? When should the bleeding subside approximately? I am not taking antibiotics yet. Thanks.

Hey.

Welcome to HCM.

Well, after drainage of a boil it is very normal to see watery-blood like discharge for 2-3 days. So please do not be worried about that.

As you are using a antibiotic cream on it, you can continue doing the same.

Also see that the bandage you use to close the wound is changed daily after cleaning the wound with anti-septic solution.

If you have any swelling or itching in the adjacent skin area, then you can apply warm compress on that area ( not on the wound ) to relieve it.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any questions, then I will be happy to answer it.

Take good care.

Regards.
