What Causes Bleeding Through Urethra?

I am a 58 yr old female,recently went to dr for wellness ck.she did pelvic exam...she said I had blood at the opening of the urethra..I did have blood in a urine sample also...she said maybe it was from dryness....I looked today and it is really bloody lookin but touching it there is no blood...she wants me to have another urine test soon...do you think it could be from dryness and what should I use to make that better? It is not from sex cause I have not had sex in about a month. thank you
