What Causes Bleeding To Stop After Taking Misoprost For Abortion?

my friend took the mtplill course starting from sunday morning. few pieces passed but yesterday after she took misoprost 800 orally , her bleeding almost stopped. what do u think cud be the possible cause ? is she required to repeat the course? how to know if abortion is complete or partial at this point?

Mtpill is Mifepristone which is used in combination with Misoprostol to terminate the pregnancy up to 9 weeks of gestation. She started bleeding after Mtpill and passed few pieces of tissue. It indicates that her abortion process has started and was probably complete before she started Misoprostol.

Then she has taken Misoprostol. This medicine contracts the uterus strongly to help expel out the products of conception from the uterine cavity. If the uterine cavity is already empty, then due to the uterine contractions, the bleeding stops.

So it seems, mostly she has aborted completely. Still it is a good option to go for ultrasonography to confirm the completeness of abortion.
