What Causes Bleeding While Urinating After Sexual Intercourse?

I had sexual intercourse for the first time last Friday. Then, Sunday night I went to bathroom and wiped, there was little bit of blood, since I was supposed to start my period that day I thought it was just my period blood. Then I woke up around 3am this morning and had this urge to go to the bathroom, there was no blood on my pad, but when I peed, lots of blood came out and it was so painful to urine. This has been continuing the whole night so this morning I went to doctors and since there was so much blood in my urine, it could not be tested, so the doctor just prescribed me some antibiotics based on my symptoms. I m pretty sure I have some kind of UTI but is the blood coming out okay? Is it coming out because I m on my period? If so, why is it only coming out when I urine?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Blood in urine can be due to urinary tract infection, trauma to the urinary tract or some kind of growth in the urinary tract.
A urine examination is necessary to look for any evidence of infection in the tract.
Local examination of the genital region is also required to confirm the urethra to be the site of bleeding. A possibility of trauma also needs to be ruled out.
Sexual intercourse can injure the urethra and surrounding soft tissues.

Thanks and take care
