Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 9 month old has a little blister bubble on his arm for almost 1 1/2 months. When it first appeared I thought it was a insect bite it had a white head, but now all this time later it is still there looking more like a flesh looking bubble. He is going for his 9 month check up on the 23, but should I bring him in sooner?
You need not necessarily bri g him in earlier, but in the meantime make sure you pay extea attention on his personal hygiene. Wash his hands regularly, do not let him put his hands in his mouth, if he does then make sure they are washed well enough. Avoid contact with wet or full diapers, and iif you send him to a day care then please make sure the day care pays extra attention on each childs hygiene.
At the doctors office, request for an oral swab from the back of his throat and stool samples to rule out viruses that can cause blisters in children, especially around the foot, hand and mouth.
Best wishes.
