What Causes Blister Like Red Rashes On Back And Upper Chest?

My husband is 65. two days ago he broke out in a red rash all over his back and upper chest. Now there are several back blister like areas. He is also having sharp headache pain, which he never has. He has a history of prostate cancer and squamous skin cancer. We are worried.
