General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is possible that the rash is due to chicken pox or shingles (this occurs in persons with a previous history of chickenpox).

This can be confirmed by a visit to your doctor.

Antiviral medications can help to decrease the course of the rash so that it lasts for a shorter period of time.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
