Hello, My boyfriend's son is one year old and he have blisters in his mouth, it's white, and the baby have a hard time eating, drinking, and is always crying from pain. One doctor said it was thrush. We got a prescription but it's not working. Another diagnosed him with something else (I don't remember the name). I wanted to know what other sickness or conditions that exists that's comparable to oral thrust in a baby? Thank you
Hello Madam Be relaxed, I ll try my best to solve out the problem the child is suffering from.According to the symptoms you have mentioned it seems that the child is suffering from herpetic stomatitis. As this disease is concerned it will go by itself within 10 days. But since the child is not able to eat anything I am advising few things • Avoid hot food and beverages • Give him more of fluids • You can use lidocaine gel(Local anaesthetic) over the affected part few minutes before his meal so that the child can eat without any pain. • For pain relief You can give him Ibuprofen syrup ( Ibugesic suspension) 1 tsp twice daily for 3-5 days. Most probably the symptoms will start subsiding soon. If not then please refer a dentist for further investigations and treatment. Hope this will help you Thank You Take Care
