What Causes Blisters On The Legs And Knee?

Over the past 3 days I ve developed a concerning number of blisters on my legs. There are several behind my right knee, the largest 2 cm across, that have popped. They are painful and exuding serous drainage. There is another cluster of smaller popped blisters on my left lateral leg, and a few small blisters scattered on my thighs and upper calves. I have not tried any new foods or medications recently. 2 weeks ago I got an abdominal rash (phytophotodermatitis) after lime/sun exposure, but this seems unrelated.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of blisters on the legs and knee. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like seborrheic keratosis, acne, allergic eczema, photodermatitis, psoriasis or boils. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply cold compresses to the rashes , take benadryl twice a day. You should take anti inflammatory and prevent it from sun exposure. Drink plenty of fluids. If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like clindamycin , immunosuppression and vitamin supplement for quick healing. Doctor may order blood test , skin allergy test or physical examination.
