Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have tiny blisters on the left and right side of both lips. Just on the sides. It gets worse when I eat and then it eases off some until I eat again. I have had it for 24 hours now. Salt really irritates. I get this once in a blue moon but it is usually after eating really salty stuff like chips or something. What is it? Should I be concerned. Thanks, Dana
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain if the blisters on both sides of the lips that are irritated on eating something salty can be due to causes like allergic reaction to certain foods and when you eat them you get blisters.. Other causes that can cause such Blisters can be Herpes virus 1 infection causing Cold Sores.. So my suggestion is to consult a General Physician and get evaluated and a clinical examination and investigations like culture of the scraping from the bumps along with blood tests can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.. As of now apply a numbing gel over them to relieve irritation.. Do cool compresses.. If there is dryness application of Petroleum jelly can help..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
