What Causes Blisters On Upper Lip With Sore Throat And Swollen Glands?

Hi. After bleaching my upper lip two nights ago I have developed a few little blisters. Just beside my lip, there is a small patch where the skin is dry and there are little scabs. Also, I noticed there are a few little blisters on the edge of my lip. It's only been two days and the skin is starting to heal.

But I am paranoid this is a herpes 1 outbreak. I've never had herpes before, but I was with someone I didn't know very well a few weeks ago. Since then, I there have been a few days I have woken up with a sore throat and swollen glands. I spoke to the guy and he said he has never had any symptoms, but did mention he had a little spot on his upper lip a week or two ago. He said this was the first time it had happened. He didn't have any sores when we were together.

Are you able to give me some advice?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain developing blisters over lip along with dry patches and scabs seems to be due to Contact Dermatitis that is due to allergic reaction with the dye..
As it has started healing over the second day itself it does not seems like Herpes Virus Infection as if it would be herpes it would have started with some tingling of lips followed by clusters of fluid filled blisters and will not generally resolve over the second day itself and last for about 2 weeks or some less..
It seems like allergic reaction only..
But if still you are doubtful you can consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and he can do a clinical evaluation and also advise blood tests like antigen antibody reaction and viral culture.
In case if it is allergic reaction anti allergics like levocetrizine and application of steroid ointment and cool compresses will relieve..
In case if it is herpes antiviral oral as well as topical medication like Acyclovir, Valacyclovir will help..
