What Causes Bloating After Having Losartan For High BP?

I have been taking Losartan potassium for about a month to help control my blood pressure. The doctor also prescribed me Lipitor to help lower and control my cholesterol. I am experiencing bloating in my stomach in a big way. What is the cause of this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Lipitor is associated with a low risk of some gastrointestinal effects including constipation, flatulence (passing excess air ), indigestion.
It is possible that it may be contributing to your symptoms.

There are other possible causes of bloating such as: (1)lactose intolerance
(2)food allergy or intolerance
(3)GERD- gastroesophageal reflux
(4)use of gas producing foods such as broccoli, cabbage, beans, carbonated drinks, turnips, brussel sprouts

I hope this helps
