What Causes Bloating Along With Abdominal Pain Post Hysterectomy By Da Vinci Procedure?
Hi im having stomach problems, not sure if its due to a recent Di vinc operation i went threw to have all my woman parts taken out due to cancer? But im now experienceing bloating to everything i eat,and abdominal stomach pain, diarrhea, what could this be?
Hello and welcome to HCM, The surgical procedure is unlikely to cause bloating, abdominal pain and diarrhoea. However, the anaesthesia used during surgery can lead to nausea and other gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms. General anaesthesia is likely to cause these symptoms soon after the surgery. The effect lasts for 1-2 days and all these symptoms disappears once the effect of anaesthesia weans off. Thus, consult your surgeon for clinical assessment. If the symptoms are occurring a couple of days after surgery then there is probably some other cause of these GI symptoms - indigestion, gastric upset, infection etc. A gynaecological surgery is not the probable cause of GI symptoms.
