What Causes Bloating And Fatigue For A 47-year-old Male?

I am a 47 year old male, I have bloating, after eating, even though I feel bloated I am still hungry, fatigue, and my close vision in getting worse. When someone says that their food is sitting in them like a rock, I feel like that all the time. I weigh about 250 and I am on medicine for high blood pressure and cholesterol, I walk at work all day and try to watch what I eat and i cannot lose weight.

Hi,

Bloating can sometimes be related to foods used eg: broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, beans, carbonated drinks, Brussels sprouts, turnips. Constipation and GERD (gastroesophageal reflux) can also cause bloating. The use of reflux medication may help. In terms of your weight loss, in addition to being careful with your diet, you may want to consider, intermittent fasting. It has been helpful in some persons trying to lose weight.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
