Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Bloating And Low Appetite Despite A Normal Colonoscopy?
I am contacting you regarding my son - just shy of 21. He s home from college and I m concerned because he s hasn t been able to eat for a few days other than a few small bites because of a feeling of bloating/feeling full. He s got a serious gluten allergy and has watched Gluten intake for years. Since August of 2016, he s had a colonscopy, endoscopy and numerous testing done - all coming out negative. He s also spoken to counselors. He s doing well at college academically and has a good group of friends. Is there an over the counter medication you would recommend to help him with this lack of eating episode? It has been reoccuring a few times over the past few months.
Avoid gluten like all diary product. De-worming should be done take tab Omiprazol and unienzyme. No further test is required. give bland diet and avoid fast food. Give fresh fruits and vegetables. You need not be worried since he is doing well in studies. it can be habit disorder. Persuade him to eat properly. You can be the best counselor. Increase his social activity and proper physical activity like gym workup and life style change.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash
