Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
ive all of a sudden starting gaining weight . I eat fairly well and exercise, drink a lot of water. Went to the doctors to see what she thought. Had blood work done and my bun/creatin is 25.7. The worst of my problems is that my stomach is bloated as if i am pregnant. labs say Im not.
You need to get your thyroid profile done to look for cause of such weight gain. Lipid profile and sugar levels may also be needed to look for any signs of metabolic syndrome.
For bloating you can use antacids like Omerperazole before meals alongside motility agents like Domperidone or Itapride.
Fresh renal profile should be repeated for BUN, and urea creat and if raises, urinary sodium and ultrasound KUB may be needed along with urinalysis.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
