What Causes Blockage In Ear And Difficulty In Hearing?

Hi, I have time to time ear plus, wich is a plus because my left ear is working only 40% shows pm n my latest audiotest (March 17)3 to 4 days I have very bad hearing blokink, and 2 to 3 days later Possible from Propaphenon ( used for AF , irregular heart bbeat, since 15 years, 225 mg /day) or clonasepam 5 mg used as sleeping aid 2 at night.This 2 med. I am using! Highly appreciate if you can help!Best Regards

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of blockage in ear and difficulty in hearing. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , But in your case it seems to me that there is spread of infection from through eustachian tube which is left untreated for long time or low immunity. For now take steam twice a day and do warm saline gargles. Apply warm compresses on ear. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without delay otherwise it can spread to middle and inner ear and complicate the condition. Doctor may order throat swab test , CT scan , viral culture test , blood test and examination with otoscope. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , decongestant , expectorant along with anti inflammatory.
