What Causes Blocked Ears,sore Throat And Bump On Roof Of Mouth?

i have blocked ears hard to hear. bad allergy symptoms sore throat, head ache, ear pain, itchy eyes, nasal drainage,and pressure. i have a bump/knot in the roof of my mouth could this be from my sinuses. i feel like i may have a bad infection. Cant get in the doctor until 2 days from now, i have left over amoxicillin, but im afraid its not strong enough. should i go to er what will happen if it ruptures.(the mouth sore)

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR CONCERN.

Thanks for your query.The symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards sinus infection known as sinusitis.It can start from simple cold if left untreated.Other reasons for this are blockage of drainage duct weak immune system,abnormal structure of nasal septum and nasal polyp.

I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist (ear,nose,throat) for proper examination and to rule out other cause.Doctor may order blood test ,nasal endoscopy,X-ray or Ct scan.For treatment doctor may prescribe antibiotic course and decongestants in the form of spray like oxymetazoline .If it is polyp or nasal septum that is creating problem doctor may recommend surgery.

For now what you can do is apply warm compresses to face several times a day,do warm saline rinses 2-3 times.take steam for congestion and do nasal saline rinses.

The sore in your mouth is also result of same infection .Do antiseptic rinses with listrine mouthwash. If it does not get better with time then consult dentist for proper diagnosis and get it treated.
