What Causes Blood And Pain During Urination After TURP Surgery?

My husband just had TURP surgery, and got his catheter out today. He is having very painful peeing tonight. Could blood clots be keeping him from urinating? He feels like very little is coming out? How can we know if he is urinating enough, and is it backing up in there?

Hi and thanks for the query,
This is simply a traumatic procedure and explains the symptoms. It is a normal observation. I would you just be patient. With fluids, this symptoms should normally fade out before the week runs out. thanks and kind regards
