If someone has blood clots in the lung they have to be on a blood thinner and watched carefully. While most blood clots in the lung are due to a very sedentary lifestyle, they can also be from diseases that need treatment like cancers, or heart failure.

In the context of having a serious condition like blood clots to the lung and either being on blood thinners (with risk of bleeding) or NOT being on them (and having high risk of more clots), then symptoms that might be cardiovascular are quite serious and need emergency (ER) attention.
