What Causes Blood Clot With Mucus During Pregnancy?

I'm 12 weeks pregnant and have been having lots of nausea and thus vomiting over the past 2 months. This morning I felt like I had mucus in the back of my throat and spit it out, but it wasn't mucus, it was about a quarter sized blood clot, bright red, and my saliva was red as well for a couple minuets. It's never happened before and other than the above stated issue, I feel fine. Is this something to worry about since I've been throwing up every day for 2 months?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Continuous vomiting can lead to tears on esophageal mucosa.
That can present as blood in saliva etc.
Usually minor tears will seal off by themselves.
If the symptoms persist, better to consult gynecologist once and get evaluated.
If she recommends consult ENT surgeon once and get examined.
Antacids, antiemetics, bland diet etc can help to some extent in relieving the symptoms.
If your doctor suggests go for coagulation profile once.
Take care.
