my husband (who is very thin and not very well nourished and a long time smoker) is concerned about bruising. for instance, he broke up a fight between our two cats. in the process, the one cat was biting or clawing at his arms. the skin wasn t broken, but under the skin, he develops what appear to be blood clots. is there a specific reason for that? aside from his arms being very thin? I have known elderly people that this happens to....I call it thin skin, but what do I know!
He might have developed a bruise. Cold compression might provide symptomatic relief. Tablets containing Vitamin C may also help by increasing the healing process. Easy bruising could be a manifestation of impaired clotting and thus he needs to get a platelet count, Bleeding time, and clothing time done to look for the underlying cause.Regards.
