What Causes Blood Discharge In The Urine?

I am a 52 year old black female. I noticed last night that I am urinating blood. It s only irritating when I urinate, and when I have been sitting for too long. I just got out of the hospital last week due to kidney injury. Should I get an appointment with my physician, or should I go to the ER?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that there might be having some bleeding from kidney might be due to oozing from the wound and collected in the kidney or bladder and coming out while urination.
There is possibility of having fresh blood coming from injured kidney due to non healing wound or having some infection there.
It is advisable to go to ER and get your case evaluated for having any complication.
Ok and take care.
