Hi,

This sounds like a ruptured ear-drum due to perforation by the Q-tip. This is painful but not by itself dangerous. I suggest that you wait and see. In the future - keep Q-tips away from small children and please do use Q-tips on small children as they very rarely need it.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Maria Riechel-Sarup, General & Family Physician
