Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. I was trying to clean my 3 yr old daughter s ears. She does not like that and tends to become fidgetive. Im sur i did not push it hard. I was hardly able to clean but there was a little blood on he cotton bud. I also use ear buds meant for kids. She cried for awhile but slept off later. No blood leakage is visible to me on the outer part of he ear. Should i get it checked for any internal bleeding or will it heal itself?
Slight blood over cotton bud while cleaning the ear indicates internal abrasions most likely. Covering the ear with sterile cotton and avoidance of further manipulation will make it heal nicely within next 48 hours. If later on you find any kind of fresh blood spot, may consult an expert ENT specialist but not at this point of time.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
